Our new Purls of Wisdom sweater is designed for not one but three weights of yarn making it as versatile to knit as it is to wear. And it is designed to be extremely wearable indeed with a beautifully minimalist aesthetic and well-considered details. In honour of our newest design, we are sharing some styling inspiration here on the blog. With a sweater this versatile, there are an infinite number of styling options; dress it up or dress it down, layer it up for a day out or wear it with your favourite pj bottoms…the choice is yours! We have collected just a few of the options below to inspire you.
&Make Yarns
The Purls of Wisdom Sweater was designed especially for The Fibre Co.’s new &Make line of yarns, which is something new and exciting for us. Designed to be easy on the budget and beginner friendly while maintaining the high-quality of yarn you have come to know and love from The Fibre Co. Each of these yarns is 100% natural, and is completely renewable and biodegradable, so it’s good for the planet and great for your craft.
Make a Statement
Wear it loud and proud! Replace your traditional autumn coat with a chunky statement sweater and make sure you share it with the world even when it is raining with a clear poncho or rain coat. This Purls of Wisdom sweater is knit with &Make Super Bulky: fabulously fat and made for fun, our Super Bulky single-ply yarn which works up with satisfying speed. Made with100% Highland wool Stronger than Merino, Highland wool is a hardwearing wool that will just get better with time.
Easy Like Sunday Morning Brunch
Nothing says ‘casual and calm Sunday’ like a minimalist pullover and boyfriend-fit jeans. French tuck your Purls of Wisdom Sweater to show off a pop of colour with a bright belt and slip on some statement sandals for the complete casual look. Bring along a bag big enough to keep your latest crafting project to get in a few stitches with your after-brunch coffee.
This Purls of Wisdom Sweater is knit with &Make Aran yarn. What do you get when you mix super soft alpaca and strong Highland wool? A fabulously soft and squishy yarn which loves colour work, is easy to stitch, and brings joy to every stitch of your sweater, accessory or homeware project. A perfect blend of Highland wool and alpaca twisted into a staple 2-ply yarn.
Light Layers in DK
The 90s revival is set to continue and overalls have never looked better! The DK version of Purls of Wisdom is light enough to wear layered under your overalls, and you may as well make it bold! Our new &Make yarns feature a fun palette of bold brights as well as our traditionally sophisticated heathered tones and this is a great outfit to join the hot pink trend for example with shade Mille Pink
This Purls of Wisdom Sweater is knit with &Make DK. Fun fact: linen is one of the oldest and most sustainable fibres we have. We have added linen to soft alpaca and strong Highland wool for our &Make DK yarn and it really adds a crispness to the stitch definition, making it a perfect yarn for textured stitch patterns—popping purls, crisp crochet, sharp stitches in every craft—this is a versatile 2 ply yarn great for sweaters, accessories.
