Designed by Claire King, the Carla Cardigan is a cropped chunky knit that is easy and quick to make. The oversized shape is great for first time garment makers worried about getting a perfect size. The cropped and roomy Carla Cardigan goes with everything in your wardrobe – from dress up to loungewear.
The cardigan is worked in rectangles. One for the back, two for the front and two for the sleeves which are then seamed together. The collar is created by picking up stitches along the edge of the cardigan opening. You can easily make the body longer or shorter by adding or reducing the number of rows to the back and two front sections of the body. The designer has created videos for everything a beginner needs to know and can be viewed here.
About the Designer
Designer Claire King lives on the beautiful coast of North West England where she is inspired by views of the mountains of Wales and Cumbria. Claire is all about creating easy knit and crochet designs that use traditional techniques with a modern minimalist aesthetic.
