About Chunky Balloon Sleeve Bomber

Designed by Claire King, the Balloon Sleeve Bomber Cardigan is a cropped chunky crochet sweater that even a beginner will find easy and quick to make. The oversized shape is great for first time garment makers worried about getting a perfect size. The pattern is full of helpful photos giving you the confidence you need to end up with a project you’re proud of.

The cardigan body is worked in three pieces starting with the back then completing two front pieces. The sleeves are created then seamed once the body is complete. Each body piece is worked sideways. Sleeves are worked by completing the cuff then working sideways into the cuff piece. If you would like a longer or shorter body then stitches can be added or subtracted at the starting chain.

Designer Claire King lives on the beautiful coast of North West England where she is inspired by views of the mountains of Wales and Cumbria. Claire is all about creating easy knit and crochet designs that use traditional techniques with a modern minimalist aesthetic. Designed with approximately 10 cm (4 in) of positive ease at chest circumference.
