One Cardigan is another staple addition to The Fibre Co.’s much-loved One Series, which centres on the idea of a single garment worn and loved by people of all ages, from all walks of life and is offered in an extended range of 15 sizes. The added flexibility of our two-length suggestions allows you to tailor your cardigan to your own measurements as you try it on as you knit.
The One Cardigan is a beginner-friendly project knit in one piece from the top down with raglan shaping. It is a classic, gender-inclusive cardigan for your handmade wardrobe.
The pattern is offered over 15 sizes from age 1-2 through to fit a 162 cm (64 in) chest, and with the option of a shorter or longer length for the adult sizes. The button band is picked up and finished last.
This kit is for the One Cardigan knit in Luma. Luma’s mix of fibres make it an excellent all-year round cardigan, light enough for summer evenings and warm enough to make a cosy extra layer in the colder months.

Needles and notions required:
- 3.75mm (US 5) needles for working a small circumference in the round – traditional or flexible DPNs, long circular for magic loop, (or size to obtain gauge)
- 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle* (or size to obtain gauge)
- 4mm (US 6) circular needle* (or size to obtain gauge)

Ages 1-2 and 2-4: 40 cm (16 in) circular needles
Ages 4-6, 6-8 and 8-10: 60 cm (24 in) circular needles
Age 10-12 and Sizes 1-3: 80 cm (32 in) circular needles
Sizes 4-9: 100 cm (40 in) circular needles - Stitch markers
- Stitch holder or waste yarn
- Tapestry needle
- 3-5 buttons approx 18 mm (0.75 in) size (7 buttons if working longer length (adult sizes only))
