Patera Pattern

Patera is a lace yoke pullover with a high-low hem and balloon sleeves. This A-line pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down and features short rows to raise the back neck for a comfortable fit. Designed by Ririko in soft and fuzzy Cirro, this special yet super-wearable pullover is a wardrobe staple that you’ll reach for over and over again.

YARN:
The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50g hank) in shade – Celestial 4 [5: 5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 7: 8] hanks.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
Patera is worked seamlessly from the top down. Featuring a lace pattern yoke and A-line body. After some short rows, the yoke is worked in the round with the Suikin lace pattern. The lower body is knit in the round in one piece with A-line shaping. Finally, sleeves stitches, set aside at the underarm, are worked top down straight in the round.

RECOMMENDED EASE:
Designed with 8-15 cm (3.25-6 in) of positive ease at chest circumference.

TENSION/GAUGE:
20 sts and 31 rnds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over st st and Suikin lace pattern after blocking using 3.75mm (US 5) needles.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS REQUIRED: 

• 3.75mm (US 5) circular needles or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference in the rnd (or size to obtain gauge)
• 3.75mm (US 5) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle
• 3.75mm (US 5) 60-120 cm (24-48 in) circular needle for working yoke and body (or size to obtain gauge)
• Stitch markers
• 2 long stitch holders or waste yarn (for holding sleeve stitches)
• Darning needle
