The Perseids Sweater plays on traditional Nordic designs for stranded colour-work yoke to create a classic sweater pattern. YARN:
The Fibre Co. Cumbria (60% Merino wool, 30% Masham wool, 10% mohair, 216 m (236 yd) per 100 g hank) in Derwentwater (A) – 5 [5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 8: 8: 9] hanks and White Heather (B) – 1 hank.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
This sweater is knitted seamlessly in the round from the top down. The work is separated after the yoke is finished, and the body and sleeves are worked separately. The pattern gives instructions for shaping the upper back neck by working German Short Rows and creating a flexible bottom edge with an elastic cast-off method.

RECOMMENDED EASE:
Designed with 5-15 cm (2-6 in) of positive ease at chest circumference.

TENSION/GAUGE:
20 sts and 26 rnds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over st st after blocking using 4.5mm (US 7) needles.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS REQUIRED:

  • 4mm (US 6) 80 cm (32 in) circular needle or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference in the round
