Description
Inspired by lush gardens and mossy stones these beautifully textured socks, designed by Enda Taylor, feature a diamond cable and basket stitch pattern. The socks are worked from the cuff down, starting with 2x2 ribbing at the cuff, which transitions into a cable pattern and a basket stitch pattern down the leg. A garter stitch heel flap is then worked, and the foot of the sock is knitted in stockinette stitch and basket stitch. Ambleside Sock is a great project for more experienced sock knitters looking for a textured pair of socks in our luxury eco-friendly yarn Amble.
Amble is a fingering-weight yarn specially designed for sock knitting. It is made from a blend of machine washable Merino wool and alpaca for comfort, and recycled nylon for strength. The Merino wool and alpaca fibres have been treated using an eco-friendly alternative to the superwash process, which makes this project truly something you can be proud of.
