Inspired by rugged rocky coastlines, Acadia is a rustic blend of fine Merino wool (providing warmth) and baby alpaca and silk noil (adding drape and luster as well as an interesting knobbly texture). The heathered appearance of this DK weight yarn is achieved from a kettle dyeing process that creates the subtle duotones for which The Fibre Co. has become known.

I love this yarn. Especially the texture added by the silk noil. This is the second sweater I've done in this yarn. The colors are fabulous! The red is Poppy and the green is Jackpine. The green is your pattern Wythop. Finally!!! Instructions for bobbles that make bobbles that "stay in place" and don't wiggle inside out! Thank you!
I am so sad to hear that fiber co. yarn will be no more by the end of the year. Not only do I love this yarn, but I love the name. I hope to make some type of a sweater.
Lovely yarn; beautiful drape.
This yarn has a lovely sheen and feels divine. It’s got such a nice drap and is super soft. The only thing to take into account is that the ply and sheen make it difficult to have any stitch definition.
The yarn knit up into a lovely, slinky fabric, soft and light. That said, the stitch definition was not great, so will not work for my purposes. That’s ok! I’ll figure something else out for this yarn.
Customer service was top-notch! Jen was phenomenal, she matched the dye lot and I was able to complete my project. Acadia is soft and easy to work. Worked double into a cropped jacket that holds its shape but is not stiff.
Beautiful and very soft DK yarn that will knit up fast for holiday gifts. Love the merino, baby alpaca and silk fiber combination. Colors are a little dark and muted but lots of pretty shades that work well together. Mussel is a lovely dark blue purple.

This is quite possibly my very favorite yarn ever! It is the epitome of luxury…so soft yet with texture, such a lovely drape yet not droopy, and the colors…well, just amazing! I bought 4 colors (Jack Pine, Butterfly Bush, Blue Heron, and Yellow Birch) and made a cowl. So beautiful!

This is unquestionably my favourite yarn. It's unbelievably sumptuous to look at and to wear, and a pleasure to work with. I had barely finished a cardigan in Royal Tern that I had to start another in the new shade, Sugar Maple; the silk noil does magic to the hues, they positively glow when touched by light.

We're so happy you love the feel of Acadia. It is truly a favourite of many knitters.
Regarding the issue of pilling, our experience shows that finer fibres spun in a loose twist, especially those with silk noil and merino in the blend, will generally pill. We usually see the pilling occurring mostly in garments worn on the body where abrasion is more likely as opposed to head and neckwear. The pilling should definitely level off after a few defuzzing treatments.
We suggest using a tool like the Gleener Fuzz Remover or the Lilly Brush. We also recommend a full soak during blocking as it can help the fibres settle into their knitted structure with fewer ends sticking out.
