About Dove Cottage Sweater

Designed by Emma Wright, Dove Cottage is a relaxed, drop-shoulder sweater with a playful band of colourwork around the bottom edge of the sweater and sleeves. Knitted in pieces using Lore, the lambswool blooms when washed to create a beautiful, harmonious fabric. The cosy funnel neck adds a modern touch and protects your neck from the Winter winds.

The Dove Cottage Sweater is part of the Borrowdale collection, a series of 16 pieces designed for The Fibre Co.’s Lore yarn. The garments and accessories in this collection are designed for everyday adventures, be it with your favourite pair of jeans and hiking boots, or wrapped up in as you snuggle on the sofa.

About the Designer

Designer Emma was taught to knit by her grandmother when she was young and eventually she went on to study Fashion Knitwear and Knitted Textiles at Nottingham Trent University. Emma’s designs are full of colour, texture and pattern, all of which can be found in several designs she has done for The Fibre Co., including the Fell Garth and April in Paris collections.

Colours:

The photos show the sweater in the shades Comfort (MC) and Gentle (CC). Choose MC from the first set and CC from the second set of colour swatches above.

Recommended ease:

Designed with 11-19 cm (5.25-8 in) of positive ease at chest circumference.

You will also need:

• 3.5mm (US 4) 40 cm (16 in) / 80 cm (32 in) circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
• 4mm (US 6) 40 cm (16 in) / 80 cm (32 in) circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle
