About Mori

Mori is a Japanese word that means forest and the beautiful leaf pattern across this garment evokes images of deep forests. Mori may be worn as a cardigan, cape or shawl. This pattern is worked from the top down seamlessly.

The inspiration for this five-piece collection designed by michiyo comes from the yarn itself— the world’s most beautiful meadows.

Hikari or ‘light’ in Japanese is a perfect name for the collection as it represents the lightness of the yarn and the lovely fabric it creates.

• PDF of Mori knitting pattern by michiyo
• 2 [3: 3: 3] hanks of The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank)

The photos show the top in the shade Alfalfa. Choose from any shade of Meadow as shown above.

S (M, L, XL)

The given sizes are called S – XL and are recommended to fit a chest circumference of: 83 (92, 103, 113) cm and [32 ¾ (36 ¼, 40 ½, 44½ ) in]

Finished measurements
Garment chest circumference (at underarm): 99 (105, 116, 128) cm [39 (41¼, 45¾, 50½) in]

Recommended ease:

Designed with 13 -15 cm (5 – 6 in) of positive ease at chest circumference.

You will also need:

• 3mm (US 2.5) circular needle in length enough to accommodate body circumference,
• 3.75mm (US 5) circular and 4 double pointed needles
• Cable needle
• Stitch markers
• Stitch holders or waste yarn
• Darning needle
