Description

This captivating lace shawl draws inspiration from a celestial cluster of stars that once guided ancient communities to sow the seeds of spring. Also known as a hap, or small blanket, this beautiful design features ribbons of lace and garter stitch. Knitting begins with a mitered square, worked flat, and continues from the center out. Stitches are picked up around the edges of the square and worked in the round, similar to a raglan yoke. Delicate lace, soothing stockinette, and textured garter stitches gracefully alternate, harmonizing together until the shawl unfurls to its final exquisite dimensions.

This shawl is knitted in Meadow, a heavy lace-weight yarn spun with baby llama and fine Merino wool for softness, silk for its sheen and linen for its crisp hand and stitch definition. Meadow is the perfect yarn to use for making this shawl due to its excellent stitch definition which makes the pattern well-defined and visually striking.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Bedstraw – 4 hanks.
