Twists & Turns Kit

This stunning shawl by Stephen West is a work of art, filled with exciting techniques, and accompanied by detailed video tutorials demonstrating every section of the shawl. Twists & Turns can be worn in multiple ways, whether it’s open, draped around the shoulders, or wrapped up for warmth. Each style transforms the overlapping patterns and colours, giving the shawl many distinct appearances. This kit includes the perfect amount of our soft, eco-friendly Amble yarn to knit this super trendy shawl.

Amble is a fingering-weight yarn made from a blend of eco-friendly washable wool and alpaca for comfort, as well as recycled nylon for added strength. This contemporary project is ideal for knitters who want to create and wear something colourful, fun, and stylish using luxury yarn.

This design was part of the Westknits Mystery Knit Along (MKAL), which included a four-part video series that released clues about the design (see the Techniques Used section below).

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank and 81 m (88 yd) per 25 g mini) in shades Exodus (MC) – 2 hanks and 2 minis, Isel (CC) – 2 hanks and 2 minis, and Wide Blue Yonder (AC) – 1 hank and 1 mini.

Finished measurements: The overall shape and dimensions are part of the mystery! TWISTS & TURNS will be a large shawl, similar in size to Starflake and Shawlography.

Needles and notions required:

• 3.5mm (US 4) long circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
• 10 stitch markers
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle
