Description

The All Together Socks showcase a striking two-color pattern created from three square design blocks that are charted. Knitted from the cuff down in a ‘tube’, the pattern has an ‘after-thought heel’, a technique whereby the heel is knitted onto the stock after the entire sock tube is completed. This technique involves picking up a set number of stitches on double pointed needles two rounds apart at the point where the heel is to be added and then cutting or ‘steeking’ in between these rounds. It is a simple and fun way to keep knitting the colorwork pattern in the round all the way from the cuff to the toe.

Knitted in two shades of Amble, a fingering-weight yarn made from a blend of eco-friendly washable wool, alpaca and recycled nylon, these socks epitomize softness and sustainability. Designed especially for sock knitting, Amble not only ensures comfort but also produces durable fabrics that stand the test of time.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20a% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank) in shades Fair Hill (MC) and Chalk Cliffs - 2 hanks.
