Description

The Mt. Hood Kit combines cozy functionality and timeless style in one adaptable accessory. Designed by Kay Hopkins, Mt. Hood is a versatile cowl that doubles as a hood—perfect for brisk hikes, city commutes, or just snuggling into warmth on chilly days. This quick-to-knit piece is worked in the round from the bottom up, then split under the chin and worked flat to form the hood. Shaped with thoughtful decreases and finished with a tidy Three Needle Bind-Off, it includes four size options and customizable tie closures, making it a satisfying and gift-worthy knit for just about anyone.

This kit pairs Kay's clever design with The Fibre Co. Cumbria, a DK-weight yarn loved for its soft hand, rustic charm, and exceptional stitch definition. A blend of Merino wool and Masham wool with a touch of mohair, Cumbria provides the perfect balance of structure and drape to show off the Mt. Hood’s ribbed texture and shaping details. Warm yet breathable, Cumbria gives this accessory just the right amount of coziness and durability—ideal for everyday wear in cooler weather.
