Scandi X-mas Socks Kit

Description

Mix and match cute Christmas motifs inspired by traditional Scandinavian patterns for a cozy pair of socks. Use the motifs as an accent stripe only or work them as an all-over pattern – the choice is all yours to create a truly unique pair of socks for yourself or as a gift for your loved ones. These socks are worked in the round from the cuff down with a short-row heel using German short-rows with double stitches. Knitters can choose to work motif charts all over or to use selected motifs as accent stripes.

About the Designer

Designer Mone Dräger was taught to knit by her grandmother when she was a child and she's been addicted ever since. She has always adapted patterns to her needs and made up patterns if she couldn't find exactly what she was looking for. Note: Three hanks are sufficient for three pairs of socks as shown in the photos if knit in the smallest size with a foot length of approximately 24 cm (9.5 in). Additional yarn would be required for larger sizes.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank) – 3 hanks.

Colors:

The photos show the socks in the shades Helvellyn (green), Blencathra (ecru) and Appleby Castle (red).

Sizes and measurements:

Women’s S, M and L to fit leg circumference 17.75 (20.5, 23.5) cm [7 (8, 9.25) in]. Leg length and foot length are adjustable.
