Description
The Tryon Creek Vest by designer Kay Hopkins is a timeless, cabled classic designed to be as wearable as it is enjoyable to knit. With clean lines and a unisex fit, this versatile piece can be styled for work, weekends, or anything in between. The cables flow seamlessly from shoulder to hem ribbing, framed by a beautifully plump lateral braid at the shoulders for both structure and visual interest. Knit top-down and completely seamless, Tryon Creek offers easy length adjustments as you go, along with customizable finishing options including 2x2 or 1x1 ribbing, multiple hem styles, and shaping choices for the perfect fit. Reverse stockinette side panels make hip increases simple, while the built-in structure ensures the vest keeps its shape for years of wear.
Worked in The Fibre Co.’s Cumbria, this design gains exceptional stitch definition to showcase the cable and braid patterns. Cumbria’s unique blend of fine Merino wool for softness, Masham wool for strength, and mohair for a gentle luster gives the fabric a sophisticated finish while still being cozy and hard-wearing. This worsted-weight yarn is ideally suited to the pattern’s crisp, architectural details, and its rich, heathered shades complement Tryon Creek’s timeless aesthetic.
As part of the Tryon Creek Collection, kits are also available in the Tryon Creek Pullover, the Tryon Creek Hat, and the Tryon Creek Cowl.
