Description
The Zhuzi cardigan features a modern and minimalist silhouette and a delicate stitch pattern reminiscent of bamboo leaves—Zhuzi meaning “bamboo” in Mandarin. Designed by Stella Egidi, this top-down cardigan is worked flat with set-in sleeves. The construction begins with a sideways provisional cast-on for the back neckline, which then joins the front and back at the underarm. Stitches are picked up along the neckline and shoulders, creating a seamless, flowing fit. The I-cord bind-off along the bottom and sleeves adds a crisp, polished finish. This versatile wardrobe piece can be dressed up or down for year-round wear, where both comfort and style are appreciated.
This kit pairs Stella’s design with Arranmore Light, a lofty yarn that blends cashmere and silk with fine Merino wool to create an authentic tweed yarn in a color palette reminiscent of wild Irish coastlands. Its light DK weight and texture make it ideal for showcasing the bamboo-inspired pattern, providing warmth without bulk. Arranmore Light drapes beautifully, enhancing the elegant lines of the cardigan. With its rustic texture and luxurious hand, Arranmore Light makes Zhuzi a wonderful knit for makers who appreciate the best of luxury and tradition.
