Description

Admire the fascinating texture of this modern take on an old classic: the Gansey. With its relaxed shape, crew neck, and raglan sleeves, easy comfort beckons you to relax and enjoy the best of a cooler day.

The Brizo Pullover is knit seamlessly from the top down. Its pleasing cable and garter stitch yoke and linear purl stitches on the upper shoulders keep things interesting. This specially written pattern includes a "raglan checklist" appendix to help keep track of increases, which lists every row and round worked in each size until you separate the body from the sleeves.

Cumbria, with its soft blend of Merino, English Masham wool, and lustrous Argentinian mohair, will provide the Brizo Pullover with everyday strength and gorgeous heathered color. It’s sure to be a beloved favorite that you’ll reach for time and again!

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Cumbria (60% Merino wool, 30% Masham wool, 10% mohair, 216 m (236 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Blencathra – 4 [5: 5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 7: 8] hanks.

Construction notes:

This raglan sweater is knitted from the top down. The pattern begins at the neck and is initially worked flat, but is soon joined to continue seamlessly in the round. The yoke is then worked to the shoulders with raglan shaping, incorporating two different stitch patterns—a ribbing pattern for the shoulders and a cable pattern for the body. The lower section of the body is worked in stockinette stitch before finishing with a ribbed hem. Sleeve and neck stitches are picked up and worked at the end. Once complete, the top of the neckband is folded over and seamed on the inside to create a double-thickness ribbed collar.
