Description
Helmi is a beautiful yoke sweater featuring a bold colorwork design on the yoke. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Starting with the neck shaping, short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck. The yoke featuring a simple slipped stitch pattern is then worked in the round to sleeve separation. Sleeve stitches are placed on hold to work the body top down to the ribbing first. The sleeves are then worked top down to the cuffs. Optional neck finishing can be worked last.
Knitted in Arranmore Light, a tweedy blend of fine Merino wool, cashmere and silk, this project is for makers who appreciate the best of luxury and tradition.
Kathy masterfully tailored the pattern to embrace the male form, adding length to the yoke and armholes, and incorporating clever short rows before the body and underarm divide.
