Description

Try your first steps in lace knitting with this elegant beginner-friendly shawl. Worked in one piece from the top down, this shawl project works up quickly and easily in &Make DK, with the beautiful blend creating a delightfully warm piece that can be easily worn across the seasons. The shawl pattern has three options; the classic shawl knit in one color, a two-color striped shawl, or a four-color striped shawl. Choose your favorite shawl option, feel at ease knitting from a beginner-friendly pattern, and your finished shawl will both complement and enhance your style on any occasion.

This pattern is also available in three kits, which include the PDF pattern and 3–4 balls of &Make DK yarn.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. &Make DK (55% Highland wool, 35% alpaca, 10% linen, 125 m (137 yd) per 50 g ball) in shade Lit – 3 balls, and two-color striped shawl in Surf’s Up (A) – 2 balls and Mille Pink (B) – 1 ball.

Construction notes:

This project walks you through a dedicated shawl cast on and the garter tab – two techniques that are quite common in shawl knitting. After finishing the garter tab, the body of the shawl is worked in a simple eyelet pattern. Once the body of the shawl is complete, you’ll work a ribbed border edging before casting off. Once it’s done, we’ll use the magic of blocking to finish your shawl and open up the eyelets.

Finished depth: 50 cm (19.5 in)
