Homebody Kit

Homebody is an easy to knit, easy to wear triangular shawl by Boo Knits. Worked from the top down in The Fibre Co Arranmore Light, Homebody is the shawl you will reach for when feeling the chill, walking the dog, dashing to the store, cutting flowers from the garden or veg from the plot. Homebody is more than a shawl; it is a hug from nature, a reminder that home is where the heart is, where we are safe and cherished and a shawl that is a protective hug with a whole lot of love in every stitch.

Homebody was released as a mystery knit-along by Boo Knits as part of the Heartfelt Collection along with Larksmeadow, Cloudwatching and Kindness.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light (80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% silk, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in shades Evlin (A) – 2 hanks and Liadan (B) – 1 hank.

Colours:

Photographs show the show the shawl in the shades Evlin (Colour A) and Liadan (Colour B). Choose Colour A from the first set of colour swatches above and Colour B from the second set of colour swatches.

Needles and notions required:

• 4mm (US6) and 5mm (US 8) about 1m in length or needles to create a pleasing fabric – your fabric should not be too dense and should have a good drape
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle for weaving in ends
• Blocking pins and mats

Gauge: The gauge achieved was 20.5 sts to 4” before blocking and 17 sts to 4” after a very gentle block, really just smoothing the damp shawl out evenly and ensuring straight lines – measurement taken over stocking stitch using 4mm (US 6) needles. A looser gauge will result in additional yardage requirements.
