So there we were, our latest work in progress, a bucket of ice cream, pizza, gummy bears and Netflix. It was happening, The Gilmore Girls were back! It was about half an hour in when our team channels on social media went wild….. is that….. is that The Fibre Co. yarn?!?!?!
Yes, yes it is.
Design duo. Lisa Whiting and Lucia Blanchet Fricke designed a collection of pieces for the new series and included two accessory patterns featuring The Fibre Co. yarns. Lisa and Lucia we raise our coffees to you in thanks! It honestly was like we just received 1,000 yellow daisies, it really was.
First we have Rory Gilmore’s scarf, shown here on the beautiful Alexis Bledel. The design calls for 4 skeins of each contrast colour in Knightsbridge, our 65% Baby llama, 25% merino wool, 10% Silk yarn. The pattern is called Dots n Dashes and can be found on Ravelry, here.
Then there is Paris, the mean girl with a big heart, who wore this beautiful scarf designed specifically for the show. The story goes that Lucia, Lisa’s design partner worked closely with costume designer Brenda Maben to perfect a pattern Lisa had intended for Vogue Knitting. We love the fact that we’ve been included as part of a collection of signature knit pieces for the friends and family of Stars Hollow upon their return to the small screen.
The yarn used for the Eponymuff scarf is our Road to China Light, our 65% Baby alpaca, 15% Silk, 10% Camel, 10% Cashmere yarn. You can get the pattern for this scarf here on Ravelry.
If you’re a Gilmore Girl addict too, we just know you’re going to want to celebrate with us. May we suggest joining our friend Shannon over at VeryShannon who is currently hosting a Gilmore Along? You can knit any pattern you want, as long as you are watching The Gilmore Girls too. We know just the yarn and pattern for that- time to chat to your local yarn store perhaps?
