One Sweater V-neck

We are thrilled to share the latest addition to the One Sweater family: the One Sweater V-neck!

The One Sweater is an ongoing design project from The Fibre Co. inspired by the idea of single sweater worn and loved by people of all ages and from all walks of life. One Sweater V-neck is a timeless raglan design that is for all genders and is offered in an extended range of 15 sizes, from 1-2 years old to Adult Size 9, with a finished chest measurement of 168 cm (62.5 in). The added flexibility of our two-length suggestions allows you to tailor your sweater to your own measurements as you try it on as you knit. An accompanying video series walks you through every step of the pattern, making One Sweater a fantastic project for first-time sweater knitters.

We are really pleased to be able to offer knitters another variation on the One Sweater, but what makes this version particularly special is the yarn combining.

Cirro + Arranmore Light

The warmth and volume from Arranmore Light knit with the fuzzy softness of Cirro merges to create a wonderfully cosy, heathered fabric.

Low contrast combinations
If you choose yarns that are close to one another in colour and shade, you will make a richly textured and subtle fabric, as shown by these examples:

High contrast
Alternatively, choosing colours that are distinctly different in hue or and shade will result in a bolder, marled effect of the fabric, as shown with these combinations:

Mid tones
With these final two examples in Arranmore Light and Cirro, the yarns belong to similar hues, but combine a darker with a lighter version of the hue. The marling is visible but not as distinct as the examples above.

Arranmore Light Slieve Sunset + Cirro Sublime

Cirro + Meadow

While combining the DK-weight yarn of Arranmore Light with the sport-weight yarn Cirro creates a quite substantial fabric, knitting Cirro together with Meadow creates a lighter weight garment with beautiful drape, and with 498 m (545 yd) in Meadow, a 100g hank goes a long way.

Low contrast
These examples show off a subtle combination of Cirro and Meadow for a more unified look to your sweater fabric.

High contrast
The following swatches show off a bold combo of Cirro and Meadow for a statement fabric.

Mid contrast
For a delicate addition of interest and contrast to the sweater fabric, consider using yarns in shades that are similar but not the same.

We have put together One Sweater V-neck kits for both Cirro and Arranmore Light or Cirro and Meadow, which include the PDF pattern, yarn and a project bag, but you can also choose any pairing of Cirro and Arranmore Light or Cirro and Meadow to create your own unique One Sweater V-neck by getting the PDF pattern and then choosing your own yarn through our yarn pages.
