The Dusk Cardigan is a loose-fitting, open cardigan with optional spine embroidery on the front edges. It is one of those comfortable pieces that you can throw over any outfit. The hourglass cables on the upper back, cuff and hem frame the large canvas of relaxing stockinette stitch, creating a reminder that there is time — time to add another stitch, another row, to the work we have at hand.

This cardigan is knitted in our lustrous Cumbria yarn blend, made of Merino wool, Masham wool and mohair. This worsted-weight yarn creates fabrics that are soft yet strong, making it perfect for everyday cosy knitwear.

This cardigan is knitted from the top down and starts with casting on stitches for the upper back, beginning with an hourglass cable across the shoulders. Once the upper piece of the back is finished, stitches for the right and left fronts are picked up from the cast-on edge on the back piece. After the upper parts of the fronts are finished, the three pieces are joined together and worked back and forth in one piece until casting off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole edge and worked in the round. The hourglass cable returns on the hem and the wide cuffs.

You can purchase items in this kit separately: Cumbria yarn and Project Bag from The Fibre Co.
