One Sweater DK is intended to be the perfect blueprint for a timeless raglan sweater and has been reimagined in our range of four DK-weight yarns: Acadia, Arranmore Light, Lore and Luma.

This pattern for all genders is offered in 15 sizes and our two length suggestions allow you to tailor your sweater to your own measurements as you try it on throughout the process.

An accompanying video series walks you through every step of the pattern, making One Sweater DK a fantastic project for first-time sweater knitters.

The Fibre Co. Acadia (60% Merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk, 133 m (145 yd) per 50g hank) in shade Royal Tern – 3 [4: 5: 5: 6: 7: 8: 9: 10: 11: 11: 12: 13: 14: 15] hanks

The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light (80% Merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% silk, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Glasney – 2 [2: 2: 2: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 4: 5: 5: 5: 6: 6] hanks

Construction notes:

A timeless gender-inclusive sweater knitted in one piece from the top down, which features short row neck shaping for an improved fit and classic raglan detailing. The pattern is offered over 15 sizes from age 1–2 through to fit a 162 cm (64 in) chest, and with the option of a shorter or longer length for the adult sizes.

Recommended ease:

The child sizes are designed with 5–10 cm (2–4 in) of positive ease. Adult sizes 1 to 9 have 1–10 cm (0.25–4 in) of positive ease

Gauge:

21 sts and 31 rnds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over st st after blocking using 4mm (US 6) needles.

Notes: 

The pattern is written specifically for knitting the regular length and longer length sweater. A new cropped-length version of the One Sweater DK is shown in the light blue sample photographed.

Instructions for knitting a cropped-length sweater:
Note: These instructions reduce the body length by 10 cm (4 in). This alteration is calculated for adult sizes only.

  • Follow all instructions in the pattern PDF up to the Body section on page 5. Then continue as follows:
  • Body
    Work in the round in stocking stitch until the side seam measures - [-: -: -: -: -: 22: 21: 20: 17: 16: 13.5: 12: 10: 21] cm (- [-: -: -: -: -: 8.75: 8.25: 7.75: 6.75: 6.25: 5.25: 4.75: 4: 4.25] in) or until the work measures 7 cm (2.5 in) less than the desired finished length for adult sizes.

  • 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference in the round
