The Purls of Wisdom Sweater is a round yoke seamless pullover knit from the top-down. With just a bit of purl-stitch texture in the yoke, this sweater is ideal for a first sweater knitting project. With 9 sizes, this sweater is worn with 5-10 cm (2-4 in) positive ease at the chest.

YARN:
6 (6, 7, 8, 8) (8, 9, 10, 10) balls of &Make Super Bulky (100% Highland wool, 80 m (87 yd) per 100 g ball). This pattern is available in two kits, Purls of Wisdom Sweater (solid) or Purls of Wisdom Sweater (Colourblock). Both kits include &Make Super Bulky yarn, PDF pattern and &Make Project Bag from The Fibre Co.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
The Purls of Wisdom Sweater is worked in the round from the top down. You will begin by casting on the Yoke at the neck which starts with knit 2, purl 2 ribbing, and then work purled increase rounds between knit rounds. When the Yoke is finished, you will put the sleeve stitches on waste yarn or stitch holders, and then knit the body until the hem, which is worked with K2, P2 rib. When the body is finished, you will pick up the sleeve stitches and work them in the round to the cuff, finishing with more K2, P2 rib. Weave in the ends, and block your sweater, and voila! Your first sweater is ready to wear!

9mm (US 13) circular needles or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference of the neck and sleeves in the round.
Main Needles:
9mm (US 13) circular needles of the following length:
Sizes 1–3: 60 cm (24 inch)
Sizes 4–6: 80 cm (32 inch)
Sizes 7–9: 100 cm (40 inch)
A stitch marker — to remind you where the round begins.
Stitch holders or waste yarn — for holding your sleeve stitches while you finish the body.
A darning needle — to weave in ends.
