Description
The Flowing Tides Shawl celebrates the magic of color transition through thoughtful construction and varied textures. This asymmetrical triangle is worked sideways with increases at the end of right-side rows, creating an organic shape that mirrors nature's flowing forms. Three distinct texture bands showcase different aspects of the design: slip stitch colorwork using Transitions paired with a solid shade of Cumbria Fingering, elegant cable work, and textured patterns, all unified by garter stitch borders and finished edges.
Knit in The Fibre Co.'s Transitions, this color-shifting sport weight yarn transforms your knitting experience with its gentle gradations and luxurious feel. The alpaca and Peruvian Highland wool blend creates a subtle halo that softens stitch definition beautifully, while the yarn's natural color evolution provides visual interest without complex color management. Each texture band reveals different aspects of the shifting hues, creating a harmonious piece that captures the ephemeral beauty of dawn breaking over mountains or dusk settling on water. Wrap yourself in the poetry of constant, gentle change.

The Flowing Tides Shawl is worked from the narrow tip upward, increasing at the end of every right-side row to form an asymmetrical triangle. Borders are worked in garter stitch with a slipped stitch edge. The shawl features three different textures each with their own chart and written instructions: a slipped stitch pattern using two colors, a cable pattern, and a texture pattern. It is finished with a simple garter stitch border.
