For those who have mastered basic knitting techniques and are ready to expand their skills. Patterns may introduce slightly more complex techniques and patterns, such as shaping, increasing, decreasing or working multiple colors or easy lace patterns. The yarn weight may vary, and the patterns might introduce working with double-pointed needles or circular needles. Patterns will help knitters gain confidence and experience with new techniques while still working within a manageable level of difficulty.
Description
Meet One Sweater Texture! Back for its third iteration, The Fibre Co.’s gender-inclusive raglan pullover is now available with a double moss stitch pattern on the front. Using The Fibre Co.’s Cumbria yarn again, One Sweater Texture builds on the original design by adding in a stitch pattern on the front to create an interesting surface texture and more knitting fun.
As with the other One Sweater designs, there are 15 sizes with varying lengths making it easy to find a size and style that works for you. After knitting One Sweater Texture, you might feel inspired to try another one in a different textured stitch, or maybe you’d rather stay tuned for the next iteration of the One Sweater design. There are several already in the works with variations on necklines, bodices, sleeve shaping and colorwork.
This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 2–9 hanks of Cumbria.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Cumbria (60% merino wool, 30% masham wool, 10% mohair; 218 m (238 yd) per 100 g hank) – 2 [2: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6: 6: 7: 8: 8] hanks. For longer length – [-: -: -: -: -: 4: 5: 5: 6: 7: 7: 8: 8: 9] hanks. Our yardage given includes enough to knit a 20 cm x 20 cm (8 x 8 in) gauge swatch.
Construction notes:
A timeless gender-inclusive sweater knitted in one piece from the top down, which features short row neck shaping for an improved fit and classic raglan detailing. The pattern is offered over 15 sizes from age 1–2 through to fit a 162 cm (64 in) chest, and with the option of a shorter or longer length for the adult sizes. The textured front panel can also be knitted in two options, as a full panel of texture shown in our Scafell Pike sample or as a more centralized panel for a geometric appearance shown here in Windermere.
