We believe in proudly wearing what you make as often as possible. However, we also know that, for many people, making in the warmer months can be more of a challenge.
Spring/Summer Knits That You Will Actually Wear
When planning our Foundations SS19 collection, we took the challenges of Summer making into consideration. Every design in this six-piece collection is intended to be a workhorse in your warm-weather wardrobe. This is why we focused on lightweight shawls and throw-on cardigans that are easy to take off when you feel too warm.
You will find designs in Luma, Meadow, Canopy Fingering and Cumbria Fingering. If you haven’t yet had the chance to work with any of these yarns, these patterns will be a wonderful introduction to them.
An Introduction to Foundations SS19 (Video: 01:29)
The Foundations SS19 Collection From The Fibre Co.
We worked with designers Paulina Popiolek, Sabine Frisch, Sarah Hatton, Susanna Winter and Verena Cohrs to create a collection of four shawls and two cardigans. Each cardigan is available in six sizes, ranging from a 30″ to a 52″ chest.
Knitters of all skill levels will find hours of enjoyable knitting in these simple patterns, whilst novices will learn clever techniques to further progress their skills. Any challenging techniques are covered in our knitting tutorial videos.
Three New Shades of Canopy Fingering
Canopy Fingering is spun from a blend of alpaca, merino and bamboo to create a soft yarn that has a beautiful drape and incredible lustre.
Inspired by her travels, our founder Daphne was inspired by the flora and fauna of tropical ecosystems to create this palette of bright, multi-tonal colourways.
Today, we are introducing three new shades to our colour palette for Spring/Summer 2019.
Lantana – a vibrant, fuschia pink
Bluestars – a dark, denim blue
Love-in-a-mist – a pale, powder blue
Canopy
Fingering is used in Sabine Frisch’s South Head shawl pattern, which is part of our new Foundations SS19 collection.
The pattern uses six hanks of Canopy Fingering to create a beautifully drapey shawl featuring addictive eyelets and soothing garter stitch. We think it would look absolutely wonderful in one of these new colourways.
