Cloudspotter Tee Crochet Along

A first for The Fibre Co. - Crochet Along!

We were thrilled to have ran our first-ever crochet along with Lindsey Newns of Lottie and Albert, for their beautiful Cloudspotter Tee!

The CAL kicked off in July on Instagram with Lindsey and ran until August, featuring in-depth tutorials and video content. Throughout the CAL we completed her signature Cloudspotter Tee, one of five patterns in our new Summer 2022 crochet collection, By Hook.

The Cloudspotter Tee is a boxy striped tee that epitomises laidback summer style. It features simple stripes, cuffed sleeves and is worked in moss stitch. The basic panel construction and shaping-free design make it ideal for beginners. The T-shirt is crocheted in rows, bottom up, in two panels which are then joined at the shoulder and side, creating a drop shoulder. A cuff is added to the sleeve after joining.

Online Classes with Lindsey Newns

To kick off the Cloudspotter Tee CAL we spoke with Lindsey all about her design inspiration and what to expect from the CAL!

In this tutorial, Lindsey shows you how to work moss stitch and how to change colors in crochet.

This tutorial will show how to colour change when working in moss stitch flat in rows, with a turn at the end of each row.

This tutorial will show how to use mattress stitch to join two panels of fabric made using moss stitch in crochet, but could easily be adapted for a variety of crochet or knitting projects.

This seam is used on the wrong side of the work at the shoulder and sleeve of the Cloudspotter Tee. This tutorial will walk you through joining into the tops of stitches, and also using a double crochet seam to join into the edges of rows.
