About Kehinde Hat

The Kehinde Hat by Sylvia Watts-Cherry is a bold and beautiful hat pattern with a slouchy fit. It is a fantastic way to use up leftover yarn from the matching Kehinde Cardigan.

The hat is knitted in the round from the bottom to the top. The 2-colour textured pattern is achieved by slipping stitches.

Kehinde is part of the Better Together collection.

• 1 hanks of The Fibre Co. Luma (50% Merino wool, 25% organic cotton, 15% linen, 10% silk, 125 m (137 yd) per 50 g hank)
• 1 hanks of The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50 g hank)
• Free Project Bag from The Fibre Co.

Colours:

The photos show the hat in the Luma shade Pearl River (main colour: the rib trims and light columns of slipped stitches) and Cirro shade Pure (the contrast colour and the dark yarn in the body of the cardigan). Choose one shade of Luma from the first set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Luma Colour’ and choose one shade of Cirro from the second set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Cirro Colour’.

Sizes:

S [M: L]

The given sizes are called S, M, L and are recommended to fit head circumference: 46-51 [51-56: 56-61] cm (18-20 [20-22: 22-24] in)

Circumference: 45 [54: 60] cm (17.5 [21.5: 23.5] in)
Height: 22 [23: 25] cm (8.75 [9: 9.75] in)

Recommended ease:

Choose the size closest but not larger than your actual head circumference.

You will also need:

• 3mm (US 2.5) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle
• 4mm (US 6) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
• 4mm (US 6) circular needle or double-pointed needles for working a small circumference in the round (or size to obtain gauge)
• Stitch marker
• Darning needle
• Balloon or hat blocking method of choice
