Mullein Kit (Amble)

Mullein is a long rectangular wrap, designed by Amanda Jones, and features a gorgeous array of patterns and geometry. This project uses short rows in stripes, mixed with open-work lace and bobbles to create a wonderful project for the advanced beginner who would like to practice more advanced techniques.

Mullein is the eighth pattern from The Almanac Series, a seasonal guide to knitting with The Fibre Co. yarns. This collection will feature a new design every month, each in a different yarn according to the qualities of the yarn to match the season.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easywash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank) in Scafell Pike (A) – 2 hanks, Blackbeck (B) – 1 hank and Helvellyn (C) – 1 hank

Colours:

The photos show the wrap in shades Scafell Pike (Colour A lace sections) , Blackbeck (Colour B stripes and triangles), and Helvellyn (Colour C, the bobbles and tassels).

Choose Colour A from the first set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Amble Colour’ and Colour B from the second set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Amble Colour 2’ and Colour C from the third set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Amble Colour 3’.

183 cm (72 in) wide and 27 cm (14.5 in) deep

Needles and notions required:

• 3.5mm (US 4) 60 cm (24 in) circular needle used for the short row sections
• 3.75mm (US 5) 60 cm (24 in) circular needle used for Lace section A and Bead section B
• 3.5mm (US 4) Crochet hook for tassels
• Darning needle
