Instructions for knitting the narrow stripe border at the hem and cuffs (shown in the red/blue sample)

  • Cast-On: Begin the pattern by casting on with Color B (Red Clover) instead of Color A.
  • Ribbing: Work 8 rows of ribbing in Color B.
  • Needle & Color Change: When switching to 3 mm (US 2) needles, also switch to Color A (Indigo). Continue working in Color A until you reach the first “Using Color A” instruction in the original pattern.
  • Reintroducing Color B: At that point, bring Color B back in. Essentially, Colors A and B are reversed compared to the original written pattern.
  • Continuation: Work the remainder of the pattern as written, keeping in mind the color reversals.
  • Sleeves: Apply the same color reversal instructions for the sleeves.

  • 2.25mm (US 1) needles

  • 3mm (US 2.5) needles

  • 2.25mm (US 1) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle
