Description
This stylish drop shoulder sweater, designed in all three &Make yarns, is the ultimate striped sweater. The contemporary striped sections vary in width, and rows of garter stitch mark the color changes, making a clever modern twist on old classic striped designs. Like with all &Make designs, the knitter is walked through each step of knitting with illustrations, written instructions and video tutorials, making this an inclusive pattern to work from.
The All Stripes Sweater can be knitted in any &Make yarn and has a separate pattern for each. Choose DK for a light and drapey fabric, Super Bulky for a warm cozy fabric, or Aran for something in the middle.
This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 7–12 balls of &Make Aran yarn.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. &Make Aran (50% Highland wool, 50% alpaca, 150 m (164 yd) per 100 g ball) in shades Betty White (A) – 2 (2, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, Cherries and Berries (B) – 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s), Prince (C) – 1 (2, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2) ball(s), Spill The Tea (D) – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 2, 2) ball(s), Silver Screen (E) – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 1, 1) ball and Cowabunga (F) – 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 2, 2) ball(s).
Construction notes:
The All Stripes Sweater is worked in the round and from the bottom up, until the underarm divide. The front and back are then split and knitted flat separately. Stitches are cast off to shape the neck and shoulders. Shoulder seams are joined using the Mattress Stitch technique. Sleeve stitches are picked up in the round and worked top down. Neckband stitches are picked up last, in the round and worked in 2x2 ribbing.
