Description
This contemporary pillow design features fun squiggle details and four chunky tassels. The contrast zip, unusual construction and playful tassels make it a real statement piece for the sofa, or tossing on the backseat for a summer road trip. The squiggles are crocheted flat, then seamed, ready to work in the round, and the main section of the pillow is crocheted in the round with a joined seam.
Luma is held double throughout and the natural blend of organic cotton, linen, Merino wool and silk makes this project something you can truly be proud of.
This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 9 hanks of The Fibre Co. Luma.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Luma (50% Merino wool, 25% organic cotton, 15% linen, 10% silk, 125 m (137 yd) per 50 g hank) in shades Carnation (A) - 5 hanks, Iris (B) - 1 hank, Blanca (C) - 2 hanks, and Marigold (D) - 1 hank.
Construction notes:
This cushion is constructed in two parts: the right-hand side is constructed by working along the edges of the first squiggle, then the left-hand side is constructed in the same way, working from the second squiggle. These pieces are joined at the center of the cushion with a sewn seam around the third squiggle. The zip is sewn into the left-hand seam of the cushion. The tassels on the left-hand side are added once the zip has been sewn on. The tassels on the right-hand side are added once this side has been seamed together.
The squiggles are crocheted flat, then seamed, ready to work in the round. Main cushion is worked in the round with a joined seam. Yarn is held double throughout for both squiggles and for main cushion.
