Description

The Gentle Spirit Tee captures the essence of lightness and elegance, perfect for breezy days. This seamless, top-down tee features a wide boat neck and delicate lace details across the top. Loosely fitted, yet refined, it offers just the right amount of ease without being too oversized. The front and back are worked separately from the top down to the underarm before being joined to knit the body in the round. With short row shaping for the neck and shoulders and finished with I-cord edging, this tee is as thoughtfully constructed as it is beautiful.

Knit in The Fibre Co.’s Amble, a blend of Easy-wash Merino wool, Easy-wash alpaca, and recycled nylon, the Gentle Spirit Tee offers sustainable luxury. The soft, fingering-weight yarn makes this design both lightweight and incredibly soft. Whether you’re up for exploring a new lacework design or simply want a versatile summer staple, this tee is a perfect choice for an interesting knit and effortless style.

A kit is also available for Gentle Spirit Tee in Amble.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash Alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Calluna – 2 [2: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 4: 5] hanks.

Construction notes:

The Gentle Spirit Tee is worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins with a Provisional Cast-On for the upper back, which is worked flat in stockinette stitch to the underarm. Shoulder stitches are returned to the needle, with central stitches held for the back neck, and stitches cast on for the front neck using waste yarn. The upper front is then worked flat with a centered lace design, bordered by stockinette, and drop shoulders are shaped with German Short Rows. After joining the front and back, the body is worked in the round, with an eyelet and purl hem finish. Armhole bands and the neckband are completed last.
