For those who have mastered basic knitting techniques and are ready to expand their skills. Patterns may introduce slightly more complex techniques and patterns, such as shaping, increasing, decreasing or working multiple colors or easy lace patterns. Description
The Maris Wrap envelopes you in waves of luxurious stitches that mirror the rhythmic flow of ocean currents. Crocheted lengthwise, it features open wave stitches that unfurl into reverse shells, creating a symphony of openwork and textures. Crafted in The Fibre Co.’s Meadow, this wrap marries the softness of Merino wool with the tenderness of baby llama, the gloss of silk, and the earthy elegance of linen.
Allow the Maris Wrap to drape around your shoulders, revealing its pattern generously like open ocean vistas, or let it envelop you more closely, echoing the warm embrace of coastal breezes. The Maris Wrap is more than an accessory. It's a reflection of the ocean’s inspiring presence, designed to cultivate a sense of peace and mindfulness with every wear.
This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 4 hanks of Meadow.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Alfalfa – 4 hanks.
Construction notes:
This shawl is worked lengthwise starting at the top with rows of open wave stitches, finishing with a solid reverse shell section. The ch1 at the beginning of a row does not count as a stitch. The ch4 at the beginning of a row counts as 1dtr and the ch2 at the beginning of a row counts as 1htr. There are no chains at the beginning of slip-stitch rows. Stitches worked in chain spaces are worked into the space rather than into the chain stitch. It may help to place a stitch marker or waste yarn in the end sts of the dc rows, so that when you work the rows that follow, you don’t miss the end stitches. When instructed to work in FLO, this means the front loop of the stitch as you are looking at it.
