Description
The Peace Cardigan is the epitome of relaxed comfort and timeless style. With its loose-fit body, fitted sleeves, and a slightly cropped length, this V-neck cardigan is perfect for layering. Thoughtful details, like overlapping side and cuff splits, created with ribbed hems and a seamless three-needle join, add subtle interest to this otherwise minimalist design. The all-over stockinette stitch pattern lends a classic touch, while the integrated front bands keep things simple and fuss-free.
Crafted in The Fibre Co.’s Cirro, a luxurious blend of Suri alpaca, organic cotton, and Merino wool, the Peace Cardigan is both light and airy, making it an ideal year-round staple. The soft, breathable fabric brings just the right balance of warmth and elegance to this everyday piece. Whether you’re lounging at home or stepping out, this cardigan will be a go-to favorite for effortless, cozy style.
A kit is also available for Peace Cardigan in Cirro.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50 g hank) in shade Angelic – 5 [5: 5: 6: 6: 6: 7: 7: 7] hanks.
Construction notes:
The Peace Cardigan is worked flat from start to finish. Begin with three separate pieces for the back and front hems, worked in a 1x1 rib pattern. These pieces are then joined using a three-needle join to create side splits. The body is worked in one piece to the underarms, then split to work the upper back and front pieces separately. Ribbed button bands with decreases for the V-neck are worked along the front edges, with the rest of the body in stockinette stitch. At the top of each front, the ribbing extends beyond the shoulders before being bound off and sewn into place at the back neck. The sleeves are worked flat, starting with two ribbed cuffs joined with a three-needle join for split cuffs. The sleeves continue flat to the sleeve cap, then bound off. Sleeves and back neckband are sewn into place during assembly.
