The meteors appear to twinkle delicately in the night sky of the Perseids Sweater, designed by Lotta H Löthgren, who was inspired by her recent study of the meteor shower. The Perseids Sweater plays on traditional Nordic designs for stranded color-work yoke to create a classic sweater pattern. This is a beautiful project for the ambitious beginner who would like to try a color-work garment.

The Fibre Co. Cumbria (60% Merino wool, 30% Masham wool, 10% mohair, 216 m (236 yd) per 100 g hank) in Derwentwater (A) – 5 [5: 6: 6: 7: 7: 8: 8: 9] hanks and White Heather (B) – 1 hank.
This sweater is knitted seamlessly in the round from the top down. The work is separated after the yoke is finished, and the body and sleeves are worked separately. The pattern gives instructions for shaping the upper back neck by working German Short Rows and creating a flexible bottom edge with an elastic cast-off method.
