Description
This generously sized cowl is a practical and hassle-free piece that can be easily slipped over the head, keeping the hands free for outdoor activities. The minimalist design of bold stripes is easily worked in a combination of knit and purl stitches on every round, and a neat border of garter stitch frames the main body of stripes nicely. This small easy project only uses two balls of &Make Aran, making it a quick, affordable, and excellent introduction to knitting.
Designed and knitted in &Make Aran, a soft 2-ply yarn blend of Highland wool and alpaca, this cowl is a warm breathable project made in great quality fibres.
This pattern is also available as a kit that includes the PDF pattern and &Make Aran.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. &Make Aran (50% Highland wool, 50% alpaca, 150 m (164 yd) per 100 g ball) in shades Hot Like Me or Wink – 2 balls.
Construction notes:
The Trail Finder Cowl is worked seamlessly in the round from one end to the other. Both ends of the cowl are trimmed with a garter stitch border for a neat finish. The main section of the cowl is worked in vertical stipe sections of knit and purl stitches.
