Description
This ocean-inspired vest top for sunny days is worked in a glorious swimming pool turquoise from the textured yarn blend Meadow. Cassie Ward’s understated garment is beginner-friendly and uses filet crochet to create pretty zig zag details. Wavelets Vest is crocheted flat from the bottom up with the scoop neckline echoed on the back, as the front and back pieces are worked alike.
This vest is extra special crocheted in Meadow, a heavy lace-weight yarn that perfectly blends baby llama and fine Merino wool for softness and linen for an exceptionally crisp hand and stitch definition.
This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 2–5 hanks of The Fibre Co. Meadow yarn.
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Sea Holly – 2 [2: 2: 3: 3: 3: 3: 4: 5] hanks.
Construction notes:
Worked in two identical pieces, beginning with the bottom welt worked side to side, then the work is turned to work along the long edge of the welt and worked in rows from bottom up. The neck is split, and each side is worked separately up to the top of the straps. The length of body and straps can be adjusted for a personalised fit. Neck and armhole edgings are crocheted on to finish.
