Vesperia Shawl is a stunning shawl featuring two intersecting patterns and a neat selvedge edge. Vesperia is French for the evening prayer song and is the inspiration for a shawl that will keep you warm on evening walks. Knit in Acadia, Vesperia is beautifully drapey and has a satisfying weight that is perfect for any occasion.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Acadia (60% Merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk, 133 m (145 yd) per 50 g) in Sugar Maple – 6 hanks.

Construction notes:

The shawl is worked sideways, and in the first section, increases are worked at both edges while the center line is shaped with a double decrease. In the second section, the shaping changes so that one side increases and the other decreases, forming a boomerang shape.

Gauge:

17 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm (4 in) measured over garter st after blocking using 4.5mm (US 7) needles.
16 sts and 22 rows to 10 cm (4 in) measured over st st after blocking using 4.5mm (US 7) needles.
