Description

The Doodle Scarf is the ultimate cozy winter accessory. Whether you wear it wrapped once (or twice) around your neck and tucked in, or drape it long over a knee-length puffer jacket, this pattern offers a large canvas for your creative expression. Choose a single-color background with a rainbow gradient like the sample, or opt for intricate border motifs with the rest of the scarf in simple stockinette—the choice is yours!

This pattern is worked in the round as a tube on circular needles, from end to end. Beginning with Judy’s Magic Cast On, you can work your custom design for the stranded colorwork until it reaches your desired length. The live stitches are then grafted closed, providing a seamless finish that matches the cast on.

Designed in The Fibre Co.’s DK-weight Acadia—a rich blend of Merino, baby alpaca, and silk noil—this scarf promises a delicate drape and sumptuous texture, feeling heavenly against the skin.

The Doodle Knit Directory Book Launch
Jamie Lomax, a Seattle-based knitwear designer and owner of Pacific Knit Co., is releasing her first book, The Doodle Knit Directory, on October 8th 2024. The book features 200 mix-and-match motifs and patterns for knitted accessories, including the Doodle Scarf, and is available to pre-order here. The designs are presented seasonally, with motifs ranging from flowers, leaves, and mushrooms to squirrels, sheep, and other birds and animals. There are also abstract designs that can be interspersed to break up patterns and add interest, giving you endless opportunities to doodle with your knitting.

The Doodle Knit Directory Knit Along
To celebrate the release of her brand new book, Jamie is hosting a free knit along via Bookmarked Hub! The Doodle Scarf is the star of the show, taking center stage on the front cover of the book, and it’s the perfect subject for this KAL. If you’d like to join in, all you need to do is gather your materials in this kit and start doodle knitting with the free KAL resources (links below)!

The Doodle Knit KAL | Part 1 – includes all the information you need, techniques, and basic information to help you get started, plus the first chart!

The Doodle Knit KAL | Part 2 – includes two new charts with leafy autumnal motifs.

The Doodle Knit KAL | Part 3 – includes two more charts with snowflake motifs.
