Description

Moon Beam Top is a sweet sleeveless top with intriguing subtle details. If you are looking for a project full of elegant details that will enchant you, look no further. Knit seamlessly from the top down this minimalist top features a beautiful neckband of eyelets flowing into a triangular motif, shaped shoulder edging, an interesting armhole trim, garter stitch underarm detailing, and a mini split hem at the center back. It is knitted in Meadow, which has the perfect drape and stitch definition for this gorgeous project.

This pattern is also available as a kit, that includes the PDF pattern and 2–3 hanks of The Fibre Co. Meadow.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Cherry Blossom – 2 [2: 2: 2: 3: 3: 3: 3: 3] hanks.

Construction notes:

This sleeveless vest is knitted seamlessly from the top down. The back neck is cast on and increased at each edge until the full width of the shoulders is reached. The upper back is then worked flat to the bottom of the armhole, incorporating the armhole shaping, before the stitches are put on hold. The front shoulders are picked up from the shaped edges of the back shoulders and the neck and armhole shaping are worked at the same time to the bottom of the armhole. The back and front are then joined, casting on extra stitches at the underarms, and the lower body is worked seamlessly in the round. The neckband is picked up and knitted at the end, whilst the armhole trims are already built into the main body of the fabric.
