Intermediate
Intermediate knitting patterns are aimed at knitters who have a solid understanding of fundamental techniques and are ready for more challenging patterns. Knitters at this level are expected to be comfortable reading patterns, working with a variety of needle types, and executing more advanced techniques such as cables, lace work, detailed construction methods or intarsia. These patterns require reading complex charts or instructions, offering knitters the chance to refine their skills and explore creative, sophisticated designs.
Description
The lovely Senara shawl, designed by Anniken Allis, uses a typical Faroese construction, with a central wedge framed by two 'wings' which help the shawl to sit neatly on the shoulders. The project begins with a garter tab cast-on, and features a diamond lace pattern which forms scallops along the lower edge. Anniken's design is knitted in Meadow, an exquisite laceweight yarn from The Fibre Co. which blends wool, silk, llama and linen fibres.
