About Amble Delight

Amble Delight is a fun new sock design from Aud Bergo. Designed for playing with colours, these socks use 3 shades of Amble in an assortment of stitch textures. With a pattern written in a wide range of 5 sizes, these are fabulous socks for him, her and them!

The socks are worked from the cuff down with a heel flap and gusset decrease. The texture pattern is easily memorized with 4-stitch pattern repeat over 4 rounds. The texture is created by slipped stitches and 1/1 left and right crosses.

This design is a collaboration for The Fibre Co.’s ‘Month of Socks‘ – a celebration of all things sock in June, with a full schedule of classes, loads of new socks designs to inspire and encourage sock knitters.

Kit contents:

• PDF of Amble Delight knitting pattern by Aud Bergo
• 1 hank of main colour, The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 325 m (355 yd) per 100 g hank)
• 1 mini of Col 2 and 1 mini of Col 3 of The Fibre Co. Amble (70% Easy-wash Merino wool, 20% Easy-wash alpaca, 10% recycled nylon, 81 m (88 yd) per 25 g hank)
• Project Bag from The Fibre Co.

Colour:

The photos show the socks in the shades Heathland (main colour), Castlerigg (Colour 1), and Walk Me Home (Colour 2). Choose from the shades of Amble as shown above.

You will also need:

• Size 2.25mm (US 1)
• Size 3.00mm (US 2.5) (or size to obtain gauge)
• One long circular needle for magic loop or two small circular needles
• Alternatively, 5 double pointed needles
• Measuring tape
• Optional: cable needle
• Darning needle
