These socks are incredibly cosy, perfect to wear at home, at the cabin or wherever your boots take you to. The pattern combines traditional moss stitch with simple cables, situated on each side of the cuff. The socks come with a matching sweater, the Braided Moss Sweater. The rich silky texture of Acadia fabrics will make this sweater a pleasure to wear and with 26 colours to choose from you have plenty of choices of how to style your own.

These socks are worked from the cuff down and feature a peasant heel that is worked after the sock is finished.

The Fibre Co. Acadia (60% Merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk, 133 m (145 yd) per 50g hank) in Orange Storm – 2 (2, 3) hanks.

Colours:

The photos show the socks in the shade Orange Storm. Choose from any shades of Acadia as shown above.

Needles and notions required:

  • US 1.5 / 2.5 mm DPNs or long circular needles if using the Magic Loop Method (for ribbing)
  • US 2.5 / 3 mm DPNs or long circular needles if using the Magic Loop Method (for main fabric)
  • Stitch markers
  • Stitch holders or waste yarn

  • Moss stitch
