Mullein Kit (Cumbria Fingering)

Mullein is a long rectangular wrap, designed by Amanda Jones, and features a gorgeous array of patterns and geometry. This project uses short rows in stripes, mixed with open-work lace and bobbles to create a wonderful project for the advanced beginner who would like to practice more advanced techniques.

Mullein is the eighth pattern from The Almanac Series, a seasonal guide to knitting with The Fibre Co. yarns. This collection will feature a new design every month, each in a different yarn according to the qualities of the yarn to match the season.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Cumbria Fingering (60% Merino wool, 30% masham wool, 10% mohair, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in Fair Hill (A) – 2 hanks, Windermere (B) – 1 hank and Catbells (C) – 1 hank

Colours:

The photos show the wrap in the shades Fair Hill (Colour A lace sections), Windermere (Colour B stripes and triangles), and Catbells (Colour C, the bobbles and tassels).

Choose Colour A from the first set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Cumbria Fingering Colour’ and Colour B from the second set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Cumbria Fingering Colour 2’ and Colour C from the third set of colour swatches above titled ‘Select Cumbria Fingering Colour 3’.

Needles and notions required:

• 3.5mm (US 4) 60 cm (24 in) circular needle used for the short row sections
• 3.75mm (US 5) 60 cm (24 in) circular needle used for Lace section A and Bead section B
• 3.5mm (US 4) Crochet hook for tassels
• Darning needle
