Designer Francoise (Frenchie) Danoy of Aroha Knits created the Return to Roots Cowl as a visual representation of their journey of connecting to their cultural heritage. Alternating between sections of cables, representing roots, and lace, representing blooming flowers, this design highlights the never-ending, yet rewarding journey of deepening one’s connection.
Francoise says: “There are times when one has to put in the work, the effort and the desire to connect, but after a period of time, the rewards are bountiful. And this cycle goes on forever and forever, as each step in the journey brings new challenges and rewards.”
This cowl is knit flat, starting with the provisional cast-on method, then the two ends are seamed together at the end using the three needle bind off.
