Snow Cloud Kit

Snow Cloud is a cosy dolman sweater designed by Melanie Berg that features a flattering boat neck and ribbed yoke. Perfectly toeing the line between stylish and comfortable, it is a perfect project for beginner knitters and a quick knit for anyone. Knitted from the top down seamlessly in one piece, this sweater is made by holding together two strands of our Cirro yarn, a blend of Suri alpaca, organic cotton and Merino wool. This yarn makes a lovely, fluffy fabric that’s warm without being too heavy.

How is it made? First, the neckband is worked, and then stitches are increased at either side to form the dolman sleeves. Sleeve openings are worked without increases, and once they’re wide enough, decreases are worked for the lower body. Lastly, stitches are picked up around the armholes to make the sleeves.

The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50 g hank) in shade Seraphic – (7, 8, 8) (8) (9, 9, 9) hanks.

The sweater is designed to fit with about 2 cm (0.75 in) of positive ease, halfway between the waist and hip.

Needles and notions:

• Two 4mm (US 6) circular needles
• 4mm (US 6) double pointed needles (or size to obtain gauge)
